Plot Synopsis
The comic starts with Gloria Rosebloom asking A.G. about Backstory Month, with the latter admitting that she is running out of ideas. RedFlash offers to make his own backstory comic, and A.G. decides to allow it.
The story begins as expected, with RedFlash proclaiming how awesome he is (especially compared to BlueBounce). However, Cap'n Merritt interrupts, complaining that RedFlash is clearly ripping off Merritt's own backstory comic (Cap'n Merritt's Backstory). Merritt questions whether or not RedFlash actually has a backstory, to which RedFlash protests that yes, he does.
RedFlash proceeds to tell the story of how he was once an average spheroid from the Red Colony, a colony of spheroids who have long been at war with the Blue Colony. Even BlueBounce backs up the story, much to Merritt's confusion. RedFlash continues his story, explaining that he was not very powerful at first and that the Red army rejected him because of it. Seeking to prove himself, RedFlash decides to infiltrate the Blue Colony.
Unfortunately, he does not last long there, and is quickly captured by Blue guards. While in jail, he meets up with a Red Colony spy named RedSage, who tells RedFlash about a supersonic weapon the Blues are building. But before he can do anything about it, RedFlash comes face-to-face with BlueBounce for the first time—high-ranking Blue military officer, and RedFlash's interrogator. RedFlash refuses to answer BlueBounce's questions and, fueled by his determination, ultimately discovers his spheroid power and breaks out of jail.
RedFlash manages to find the warehouse where the sonic weapon is being built, but is quickly discovered by the Blues once again. BlueBounce arrives on the scene, taking it upon himself to deal with the brat. The two of them begin their first ever battle, in which RedFlash once again discovers his unforeseen potential and performs a HugeAttack, defeating BlueBounce and destroying the weapon in one fell swoop—an action that crowns him as a hero back in the Red Colony.
When RedFlash presents his finished comic to A.G., she asks many questions about spheroid culture, much to RedFlash's befuddlement.
